As D for Deregulation Day loomed, our October 1986 issu reported that West Yorkshire PTE had rejected an approach from BET's United Transport International for the new West Yorkshire Public Transport Company to acquire part ownership of UTI's proposed West Yorkshire-based minibus company. The same issue reported that UTI was launching Bee Line Buzz minibuses in Stockport and Manchester and it later launched another service in Preston before selling out to Ribble. The PTC was the arm's length company that came to life as Yorkshire Rider.
