Veolia Transdev shrinks from Norway

Financial losses have forced Veolia Transdev to pull out of Norway. A consortium of Veolia Norwav manaaers has teamed up with the Luxembourg-based Cube infrastructure fund to take over its 650 buses and 2,000 employees. The company has been renamed Boreal Transport with rebranding due to be completed by the end of this year. The new name was inspired by the Scandinavian Northern Lights weather phenomenon known in Latin as Aurora Borealis and by Boreal, which means northern. Cube also has a share in Netinera, the new name for Arriva's old operations in Germany.
