A difficult year

Nobody said that 2010 was going to be an easy year and as the scale of the country's economic difficulties became clearer and the new government announced its cost-cutting measures there were serious concerns about the impact these would have on the future of many of the UK's bus routes. One big fear was that the Bus Service Operators Grant (BSOG) would be abolished. The government provides a fuel duty rebate on approximately 80% of the fuel used by buses.
