New bus deliveries down by 25%

Provisional figures show a 25% fall in new bus and coach registrations in the UK last year. Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders statistics, based on information approved by member companies, record a fall from 4,323 vehicles in 2009 to 3,226 last year, with Alexander Dennis clear market leader at 26.94% of the total. Volvo (1 7.54%) and Scania (1 7.2%) came next, followed by Optare (8.65%).
