Two sharp weapons

Dennis introduced its lance single-deck chassis 20 years ago this coming October at the Coach & Bus 91 show at the National Exhibition Centre. At that time, the Guildford-based manufacturer was on a high; its Dart midibus, introduced two years previously, had overcome a slow start and orders were flowing in at a tremendous rate. Operators were rapidly moving away from the smaller buses of previous years and at first glance the full-size Lance seemed to exhibit the same potential.
