Stratford run to commemorate Midland Red anniversaries

A major road run and vehicle gathering on 8 May will take preserved Midland Red buses to Stratford-upon-Avon to mark two significant anniversaries in the break-up of this once large operator. It will be 38 years since most of its services and vehicles in West Midlands County were sold to West Midlands PTE and 30 years since the National Bus Company broke the then loss-making remains of the business into smaller companies with more locally focused management. Those companies have since become part of Arriva, Stagecoach and First.On 8 May, a selection of preserved Midland Red buses and coaches will travel from Nuneaton to Coventry, Leamington, Warwick and Stratford, where they will join others in a 10-vehicle display.
