Is the London v. regions gap betweereality and perception?

I Fear My Old Chum David Thrower may not be getting out enough (You Write last month) and I will be sending him a free pass and an invitation to experience the reality of 'provincial' bus operation with Go North East, as I know he has much experience of buses in this area.I cannot recognise the comparison he makes between London and the regions, but can assure him that he will be able to use the latest smartcard technology, buy travel with us on-line, communicate with us and his fellow passengers using the latest technology by web, Facebook and Twitter and of course enjoy a full range of multi-operator and multi-modal ticket options, including buying tickets from the bus driver that allow him to complete his journey by Metro, train or ferry. I wonder how much of this he would be able to do in London.
