Five 13m tri-axle Van Hool A330 fuel-cell buses - each costing ￡1.14million -are going to Oslo as part of the same Europe-wide fleet trial programme for hydrogen-powered public transport that will see eight Wright-bodied fuel-cell buses evaluated in London.Ruter, the public transport authority for the Norwegian capital, will own the buses, which will be operated by the winner of a competitive tender to be decided in February, and has taken out an option on a further five. They go into regular passenger service from 2012 on route 81A between Oslo and Akershus. A hydrogen refuelling plant will be built at Rosenholm bus depot as part of the Hynor Oslo Buss project.
