Orty-Two Years Ago, One Of The bus industry's innovators caused people to think that the future of the double-decker came in the shape of a Cummins-engined, twin-staircase, multi-door machine around 11m long.Sounds familiar? The innovator was Walsall Corporation general manager R. Edgley Cox and the bus was Walsall 56, the only Daimler Fleetline CRC6-36 built for the UK, a vehicle that for many was the star attraction of the 1968 Commercial Motor Show at London's Earls Court that September.
