Keolis gains two key Stockholm contracts

The Swedish arm of French group Keolis has gained two key suburban contracts on the outskirts of Stockholm worth €115million (￡97.5million) per year.It took the work off incumbent Nobina in Huddinge and Soederort in the south and from Arriva at Nacka and Vaermdoe to the east.Total vehicle requirement for the routes is 500 buses with a workforce of 1,500. Services start in August for seven years, with an option to extend for three years. Keolis - now Sweden's second largest operator - has pledged to buy 180 new buses, which will all run on non-fossil fuels: biogas,ethanol and RME (rapeseed methyl ester).
