The boost in bus buying from the London Olympics may have passed, the economy may still be in recession and future funding of low carbon vehicles uncertain, but innovation is far from dead and several important new bus and coach models are set to make their debut at Euro Bus Expo-the two-yearly principal UK show-at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham on 6-8 November. The looming 2014 deadline for the new Euro6 exhaust emission standards-by far the toughest yet-has added impetus to manufacturers' new model plans and the show will provide some clear evidence not only of what they will be offering but also how they are addressing operators' concerns about fuel consumption and weight reduction.
