It was at the November 2008 Euro Bus Expo show - the one where every manufacturer who was anybody showcased its hybrid electric drive technology - that one of the UK's most senior bus executives expressed his personal opinion to us: that where all this fancy technology might really drive us is to make conventional diesel buses much more fuel efficient and, consequently, cleaner.
