This month I am featuring a single-decker that came full circle rebodied from a double-decker based on a single-deck chassis. This chassis was the Volvo Citybus, an innovative product from the company's Irvine factory that first appeared in 1982. It was a modified version of the versatile B10M, with a slightly lowered frame, repositioned chassis auxiliaries and low profile tyres. By making these alterations, it produced an underfloor-engined double-decker around 14ft 6in high. In 1984, Fife Scottish took two Citybuses with Alexander's rare RDC-type double-deck coach body.
