I suspect that few have as comprehensive knowledge of the UK's bus breaking industry — especially its South Yorkshire heartland — as Keith Jenkinson, who provides an enlightening insight into how it has developed over the decades. One thing that comes across is how transient many of these businesses have been. Alive to an opportunity, individuals have flitted in and out of scrapping buses, moving from site to site, forming, dissolving and then forming new business partnerships before disappearing again to try something new. The whole business has also become a lot more sophisticated, some might say bureaucratic, as society has demanded controls on the indiscriminate disposal of waste.
