Nexus leads new drve for re-regulation

PTEs and integrated transport authorities are stepping up their campaign for London-style quality contracts to replace deregulated bus operations in some English conurbations. PTEG, the PTEs' lobbying group, and Tyne & Wear PTE Nexus are leading the latest moves and have seized on the recent Competition Commission report (Buses last month) detailing discussions between Arriva, Go-Ahead Group and First in northern England and the Midlands to argue that the market is failing to deliver efficient bus services in city regions.
