McColl's wins single contract for Helensburgh & Lomond school transport

Local contractors have lost out as a result of new school contract arrangements put in place in October by Argyll & Bute Council for its Helensburgh & Lomond area. On this occasion, the council's tendering exercise was devised by its in-house procurement team, rather than its public transport unit. Thus, the entire school transport package for the area — covering Arrochar, Tarbet, Luss, Helensburgh, Garelochhead and the Rosneath Peninsula — was let as a single contract for around 10 buses plus non-PSVs, rather than as a series of individual contracts.
