Merseyside 'jumbo' back on the road

Newly restored Merseyside PTE 1162 (XKC 789J), a 1971 long wheelbase Leyland Atlantean PDR2/1 with Alexander L-type body, had its first outing for the Merseyside Transport Trust on 26 October. The 33ft long 79-seater, which saw service in the Isle of Man following sale from Merseyside, wears the Verona green and cream livery the PTE adopted later in the 1970s when it abandoned separate colour schemes for Liverpool, Wirral, St Helens and Southport.
