Cannon shoots after midibus niche

Northern Ireland-based Cannon Truck & Plant turned heads with its 9.4m 150 BEL midibus, as much for its appearance as its potential. At first glance, this looks like an Alexander Dennis Enviro200, and the impression is reinforced by a chassis specification that includes a six-cylinder Cummins ISBe engine and Allison 2100 transmission. The glazing is branded Alexander Dennis and the body uses many of the market leader's parts. There are differences from the original, including a hot-dipped galvanised chassis frame, stainless steel pipework, a larger cooling package, a narrower entrance door and three steps rather than one into the raised rear section.
