Optare shows Euro6 layout, promises double-decker

Such is the slow uptake of Euro6 that although Optare launched the repackaged version of its best-selling Solo SR midibus at the NEC, the bus in question had a Euro5 engine. A Euro6 prototype is undergoing tests. It has secured its first Euro6 order, for 12 of the new Cummins-powered MetroCity developed for the London market and launched at Euro Bus Expo in November 2012. They are from RATP-owned Epsom Coaches Group, which already operates Optare Versas and Solos.
