Work starts on new First Glasgow depot

Construction work has begun on First Glasgow's new depot and head office site at Gushetfaulds to the south of the city centre. The facility, to replace the adjacent Larkfield depot opened by Glasgow Corporation in 1929, is on the site of a former British Rail Freightliner depot. It is split in two by the M74 motorway, access between the two sections being through a twin-arch bridge beneath the road, one for buses and the other for a former railway trackbed reserved for possible future use.
