M Travel reaches Leeds in competition with Arriva

The lengthy rivalry in West Yorkshire between Arriva and independent operator M Travel was stepped up a gear on 1 September when the independent introduced a fast service into Leeds city centre. Its X64 operates all day between Kippax and the city centre, using the M1. Other than a few peak commuter journeys, Arriva's established service is an all-stops operation on local roads, catering for intermediate traffic along the full length of route. This is M Travel's first incursion into the city centre.
