Although I have been fortunate to visit Barbados on several occasions in recent years, I have never found a reason to drag myself off the beach to use its public transport. In fact, other than a short trip from the hotel to the nearest shopping mall by bus, which in itself did little to increase my confidence in the system, I have always thought the whole thing looked a little chaotic. However, now retired and carefree, I decided this time I should face the challenge and venture farther afield. My preparatory research, which proved nearly impossible, might have given me an excuse to change my mind but, once my mind way was made up, I was determined.
