When it comes to public transport, provision in Switzerland is among the best there is. As a regular visitor to central Europe in recent years, I have developed an interest in the public transport networks found there and in particular in Switzerland, making inevitable comparisons with what happens back home. Developments in the UK bus sector since the mid-1990s have arguably been underpinned by three key objectives: improving accessibility, reducing emissions and improving the perceived image and quality of public transport.
