摘要

Armchair Passenger Transport lasted almost 50 years, founded in November 1960 and latterly a fleetname on some Westbus coaches until the final pair was sold in July 2010. This self-published book tells much of what happened in between, from the perspective of someone who worked there for a time and has wider experience of the London coach scene, as well as significant events that led to the company's formation. It shows how so much has changed, with coach deregulation unsettling the status quo that pertained over the company's first 20 years, London bus route tendering allowing Armchair to diversify into a new market that ultimately became bigger than its coaching activities and it explains how the internet eventually destroyed much of the group travel business that favoured so many coach companies.
