Like Bere Regis & District, Brutonian Coaches was another West Country independent acquired by Cawlett after deregulation. It was a shorter-lived business, founded in 1959, sold to the big bus company 30 years later and closed in 1991. Ian Trotter was its manager from late 1 986 and has self-published this illustrated history of the Bruton, Somerset business, its predecessors and successors. By his own admission, it is not the most professionally produced books and readers must make allowances for many of the pages having every single line of text beginning with a capital letter and a few of the photographs having been stretched to fit a space.
