They did not come much rarer than the Rutland Clipper of which just two examples were produced. Its maker started out in 1 946 as Manton Motors in Addiscombe, Croydon as a lorry repairer and dealer, but once established then began building lorries of its own design chiefly for export. In 1951 it relocated to New Addington, the largely postwar housing estate still being built by Croydon Council.
