Hydrogen Hybrids

Perhaps the most noteworthy buses ever to seen on Britain's roads are London's hydrogen fuel-cell single-deckers. Eight have been built, though only four are currently in service, a fifth having suffered a fire in the power compartment while three others are held up by a complex certification process and are stored at the Wrightbus factory in Northern Ireland. Transport for London owns them, but First London operates them from Lea Interchange garage in Leyton, east London.
