new system for paying bus fares without the need for cash or an OysterCard came into use on all London buses on 1 3 December. Instead, passengers may wave their bank credit, debit or charge cards just near or on the Oyster machine reader to pay their fare, which will be charged at the same price as for an OysterCard. The cost will be listed on customers' monthly bank statements and deducted from their account if they use a debit card or added to their credit card statement.
