Stagecoach bags more of First, awaits OFT clearance of Bluebird buy

Stagecoach has agreed a second deal to acquire one of the unwanted peripheral parts of First Manchester's business and is awaiting Office of Fair Trading approval for its purchase of one of the larger independents still serving Greater Manchester. It has followed the ￡1 2million takeover of First's Wigan operations with a ￡4.5million deal to buy the Birkenhead and Chester businesses and the yellow schoolbus outstation in Wrexham.
