London needs to be deregulated

I can assure Peter Hobden (You Write, September) that I regularly use buses outside London. Oxford and Reading are just two examples of an excellent network of services and there are plenty of buses about during the evenings and on Sundays, even a few 24hr routes. I would rather see the innovative ideas of deregulation bought to London than have to suffer the Transport for London 'we know best' attitude when it comes to making a few changes in accordance with public demand.
