Glasgow TD1 for sale

The 1928 Leyland Titan TD1 at the Scottish Vintage Bus Museum has been advertised for sale. If a suitable buyer comes forward for Glasgow Corporation 111 (GE 2446), owners Jasper Pettie and David Hoare intend to invest the proceeds in other major long-term restoration projects. They hope to sell it to an individual, company or consortium willing to keep it on public show in Scotland. The first modern double-decker with drop frame chassis, the Titan TD1 -announced in 1927 - played a pivotal part in the development of the British bus industry and the replacement of many Edwardian tramways. Glasgow 111 is one of around 15 known to survive, only a few of which are restored to original condition.
