Stagecoach pushes for France to deregulate

Stagecoach has expanded Megabus.com in France, where it is pressing the government to allow it to carry passengers making domestic journeys. Starting 7 July, a daily return service has linked London, Paris, Toulouse and Barcelona with a 19hr journey between London and Toulouse and 5hr 30min between Toulouse and Barcelona. It offers connections in Paris into Belgium, Netherlands and Germany. While French rules permit it to offer international journeys from French cities, they prevent Megabus and other new players from selling tickets, for example, to travel solely between Paris and Toulouse.
