In the strongly growing coach market, second placed Scania has closed the gap behind market leader Volvo over the past two years. Volvo's share fell by 13 percentage points while Scania's increased by 10, leaving Volvo with just under a third of the market while Scania's share approached 20%. The B9R formed the bulk (70%) of Volvo sales, with the remainder being shared fairly equally between the heavyweight B13R and the newly introduced B11R. National Express contractors took 90 of the B9R while Stagecoach received nearly 40 Volvos, a mix of B11R and B13R. The success of Scania's K-series in recent years has been bolstered by large orders from Ulsterbus mainly for express services. More than 60 arrived in 2013.
