Three flash-charged Volvo 7900H plug-in hybrids will enter service later this year on a busy route in Hamburg chosen to showcase the German city's growing fleet of low-carbon buses.rnThe Volvos, which use roof-mounted pantographs to take on power from a charging station, are similar to three on trial in the Swedish city of Gothenburg. They can run on electric power for most of the 35min route, which has 23 stops.
