The Upper Tribunal has set aside last year's revocation of the James King Coaches and ABC Travel operator licences. The two entities, both owned by James King of Kirkcowan, were called to a public inquiry last June following an application to increase ABC Travel's vehicle authorisation. The principal issue was the financial standing for each company, and deputy Scottish traffic commissioner Richard McFarlane adjourned the inquiry for two months, as he was not satisfied by the financial evidence provided. He granted a further extension requested by the operators' agent, but the details eventually submitted in September were still not deemed satisfactory.
