Brooklands plans Weymann and Harrington theme

The London Bus Museum will celebrate the products of coachbuilders Weymann and Harrington at its 2016 Spring Gathering on 17 April. Both firms closed their doors as builders of bus and coach bodies 50 years ago next year and the museum is inviting owners of both companies' products to take part in the event at its Brooklands site. Weymann dated from the 1920s, when Charles Weymann applied aircraft technology to the building of motor bodies. The company bodied more buses than coaches and was one of the companies that London Transport contracted to body the postwar RT double-decker. These required a separate factory in Weybridge, but the Addlestone factory produced buses and coaches for a wide variety of operators.
