Arriva finally quits its East Surrey roots

Arriva Southern Counties gave up its last bus route in the East Surrey area at the end of May. The 32 (Guildford-Dorking-Redhill) provided the last link to what was once the home of predecessor London Country, at Reigate, indeed dating back to the founding of East Surrey Traction Company in 1911. The route even served Bell Street, which once housed both East Surrey's and London Country's head offices, and also passed the one-time bus garage in Lesbourne Road. London Country's Guildford-Dorking service was numbered 425, while that between Dorking and Redhill has been covered by routes 414, 425 and 439 at various times.
