TV documentary highlights trainers' many skills

All too often television programmes about public transport depress me, mainly because they tend to be too superficial. Last year's Channel 5 series about East Yorkshire Motor Services was a happy exception and something a little different is the current ITV documentary series about bus driver training at Arriva London. Arriva has the smartest training fleet of any London operator and it is the only operator not to paint these buses red, instead using its standard aquamarine. The bulk of its training fleet at the moment is its DLA-class DAF DB250s, the first of which was London's first low-floor double-decker.
