It lies 27miles north-west and just 10min in the air. Jersey's smaller neighbour Guernsey is a quieter version of its big brother and slightly more old-fashioned. On a gloriously sunny October morning, I landed at Guernsey's modern airport in good time to pick up my first 'buses.gg'. As in Jersey, this is operated by the HCT Group (which took over from Island Coachways in April 2012), but I got the impression that CT Plus Guernsey has a far stronger tie to the Guernsey government than Libertybus has with Jersey My second impression, as I boarded an elderly Dennis Dart for the 08.25 service 11 at 08.28, was that the Guernsey company was probably the poorer relation.
