Guy chassis with Harrington bodies were rare; indeed there were just four during the Hove, Sussex coachbuilder's entire history of bodying passenger vehicles between 1913 and 1966. The earliest was an FC model of 1931 and the second, around 18 years later, a Gardner 6LW-engined Arab Ⅲ built for Blake's (Continental Tours) Ltd. of Plymouth in September 1949. This was FCO 187, built specifically for European Continental touring to a length of 30ft that then comfortably exceeded the UK limit of 27ft 6in for two-axle single-deck chassis.
