Lynx, a new start business headed by the founders of Konectbus, began its first commercial bus service between King's Lynn and Hunstanton via Dersingham, Snettisham and Heacham on 26 January with four carefully selected secondhand Optare Tempos. Lynx is the trading name of Coastal Red, registered at North Runcton and operating from a modern secure site on one of the Norfolk town's industrial estates. The directors are Julian Patterson, Steve Challis, and Andy Warnes, ex-Eastern Counties men who founded Konectbus in August 1999 and sold it to Go-Ahead Group in March 2010. Patterson latterly was managing director of Go-Ahead's East Anglia businesses -Anglian Bus, Hedingham and Chambers as well as Konectbus. Explaining the decision to set up the new venture in an area served by Stagecoach- owned Norfolk Green, Patterson says: 'Go Ahead was one of the better groups and still is in many respects, but I wanted to try something new where I could use entrepreneurial ideas to develop something different in an area I know well.
