At first glance the vehicle shown might appear to be just another wartime utility-bodied Bedford OWB, more than 2,500 of which were built as 32-seat buses for UK operators between 1942 and 1945. But it is not. Records show that EMW 145, of Skylark Motor Services of Woodfalls, Wiltshire, was a postwar Bedford OB dating from July 1947 and fitted with a 28-seat body built by Lee Motor Works of Bournemouth.
