Denis Strange filmed his first Hong Kong transport video in May 1995 and returned last November to capture the present day scene. He has packaged these into a three-disk production, two showing 4hr of buses, trains and light rail vehicles in 2015, the third 1hr 35min from 1995. For £2 less, you can have just the 2015 material, but there is far more to enjoy in the full package. As with all Independent Transport Videos DVDs, there is no commentary, just the sound of the vehicles in action along with atmospheric background noises. In this case, there are snatches of conversations you are unlikely to understand unless fluent in one of the Chinese languages, as well as car horns, pedestrian crossing bleepers, pneumatic drills, low-flying aircraft and birdsong.
