Michael Yelton's series on the small South Wales municipals reaches Pontypridd with this 41st title in Venture's attractively priced Prestige Series of illustrated histories. It comes a few months after the appearance of Adam Gordon's £40 magnum opus on Pontypridd's trolleybuses (Reviews, October) and although it does mention the highlights of the trolleybus era when 17 vehicles ran under wires, it majors on the 125 motorbuses that the urban district council owned from 1930 until local government reorganisation transferred it to the new Taff-Ely council in 1974; there were 54 in the fleet in 1963.
