Vantage, the partly guided Manchester-Leigh bus rapid transit service, opens on Sunday 3 April, a date that will also see several of the city region's commercial and supported services withdrawn. First, which will operate the Vantage service with a new fleet of Wright-bodied Volvo B5LH hybrid double-deckers, has deregistered two existing routes close to the line and has deregistered five others across the region. It has curtailed the length of three more routes, curtailed the hours of operation of four and reduced weekday and Saturday frequencies of six more.
