摘要

One relic from the trolleybus era still to be glimpsed in parts of the land are remnants of their overhead wiring, especially lamp standards splayed outwards to keep the overhead taut. There are ever fewer of them as time goes on, but John Wood has spotted a stray piece of infrastructure intended for one of today's super bus systems. He came upon an obstruction in York Road, Luton in February, which he speedily identified as sections of concrete guided busway track with a production date of February 2012 stamped on them. He feels certain that they were produced for the Luton-Dunstable Busway and perhaps these particular bits failed the builders' quality test.
