Van Hool confirms details of RV1 order

Van Hool has confirmed the specification details of the two hydrogen fuel-cell single-deckers it is building for Transport for London's trials on route RVl (Covent Garden-Tower Hill), operated by Tower Transit. The two Belgian-built buses, which will join eight Wrightbus fuel-cell single-deckers based on VDL SB2OO chassis, will be the A330 model with Canadian manufacturer Ballard Power Systems' latest FCvelocity-HD7 fuel-cell. Although similar to the 10 A330 fuel-cell buses that First and Stagecoach are trialling in Aberdeen, there are fundamental differences. The 13.3m Aberdeen buses have three axles, 42 seats and one door, while the London pair will be 12m long with two axles, 35 seats (plus 30 standees) and two doors.
