BRT is part of Hertfordshire's plan to beat car use

Hertfordshire County Council says an extensive interurban bus rapid transit (BRT) scheme would help provide an alternative to car dependency as it prepares to accommodate an increasing population over the next 25 years. Its blueprint local transport plan offers a mixture of road, public transport and sustainable transport proposals, which it believes will mitigate the effect of an additional 175,000 people living in the county by 2031.
