Irizar used Busworld to reveal its answer to the Exqui.City, the ie Tram, a 155-passenger (up to 39 seated) 18.73m electric bendybus designed for BRT lines. The pilot vehicle - it is reluctant to call it a prototype and prefers to describe it as a template bus - is destined for operation initially in Barcelona but is to the standard of a 20-vehicle order from the Basque French city of Bayonne, the first 10 of which will be delivered next year. Barcelona will get four and during the show Irizar announced an order for a further 43 for a €122million (£107million) BRT scheme in the northern French city of Amiens, the largest European project to date for electric BRT. That system is due to start operating in 2019.
