Wythall Spectra back in original colours

The Wythall Transport Museum has restored its Optare Spectra-bodied DAF DB250, 4001 (Rl NEG), to the Travel West Midlands red, white and blue livery it wore when new in 1998. Despite the wording on the sides claiming it to be the first, it was actually the second low-floor double-decker to go into service in Britain, and was one of two early examples delivered to the National Express Group. The museum revealed its new look at its running day on 8 October. Abus of Bristol put its low-floor Spectra into service a few hours ahead of TWM's.
